Christmas is fast approaching and hasn’t it come around quickly. This year has not been without its challenges however there have been some really good things that have happened as well. My sister gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Katerina, named after our YiaYia (grandmother) in Greece. However, this was closely followed by the passing of a very beloved family member, my father.
The most exciting and enjoyable, though both equally as challenging pursuits have been raising our 3 year old son William, and starting the In My Hood business. Both are time consuming, stressful, manic and at times downright impossible, but they provide great satisfaction and am proud to see the amazing growth in both.
Christmas is a special time for us as I am sure it is in your home too! It is a time for rest and relaxation, for plenty of Christmas cheer (read: eat and drink lots!), for nice weather and time in the outdoors/beach/pool you choose. Most of all, it is a time to savor and share special experiences with family.
I get so much enjoyment out of seeing William get so excited about any and everything related to Christmas. Santa Claus, Christmas lights, Christmas trees and decorations. We didn’t go all out with a big Christmas tree this year but William certainly enjoyed helping decorate the tree and he was particularly fascinated with some of the Down to the Woods home and decor.
Like many, our Christmas day often involves what can best be described as a taxi service scurrying from one end of Sydney to another trying to squeeze in both my husband’s family and my own. This year will be a little more low key as we will have a lunch and dinner family catch up but thankfully both are very close to our home. As enjoyable as it is seeing lots of family it is just too stressful trying to fit too much in so we plan on relaxing more and taking it easy which will be a lovely change. What does your family do for your Christmas day?
I know that Christmas is almost upon us however if you are looking for some last minute presents, we have come up with a list of gifts under $40. These range from play toys to books, Sunnylife inflatables and wooden puzzles right through to underwater cameras. If you are interested in taking a look at what we have come up with just click on this link here and check it out. In our broader Christmas theme we also have Christmas tree decorations, a range of fairy lights and also Santa sacks www.inmyhood.com.au/68-christmas-decor.
It has been such an eye opening experience starting my own business and I have enjoyed every moment of the journey so far. We have made great progress this year but we are very excited about the year ahead as we have some big plans for online kids store that we can’t wait to share with you. We thank all of our customers, staff, suppliers, friends and family for joining us for the experience thus far, and we hope you will remain with us as we continue to grow.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
